STEAMER Project Intern Audrey Oh gets SketchUp training from Undergraduate Intern, Damion Kaholo. She will use SketchUp to design the production room layout.
A great big 🎉congratulations🎉 to Washington Middle, Waipahu Intermediate, and Ilima Intermediate Schools for successfully securing funding for the STEAMER Network project from the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund (a part of the CARES Act).
STEAMER! The STEAM Entrepreneurship and Research Network is a visionary solution to reconnect students, their teachers, and their community through the practical application of Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, Math, Entrepreneurship, and Research in sustainable agriculture.
Washington Middle School principal, Michael Harano has convened a fantastic team of lead teachers and student interns:

Coffee Time Session: Newton’s 2nd Law
Lessons and Teacher Guide for Virtual/Hybrid delivery
Saturday, October 16, 8:00 – 9:00 am via ZOOM.
Science teacher, Randall Shinn will share the Newton’s 2nd Law Lessons that he and his colleagues at Ilima and Highlands Intermediate Schools helped develop for virtual and hybrid learning. The session will incorporate a discussion of strategies and tools that facilitate hybrid learning and student engagement. Mr. Shinn will also introduce the Newton’s 2nd Law Teacher Guide, and the accompanying Student Science Notebook.
The Application Videos, “How Does a Drone Fly?” and “Newton’s Law and RC Car Racing” were produced by UH Applied Research Laboratory and STEM Pre-Academy. The one-hour session will conclude with Q&A.
