Science Fair Light Kit (with Vernier Sensors)

The Science Fair Light Kit gives students the tools to investigate light, energy, and environmental conditions using real scientific instruments. Built around a Vernier LabQuest interface, this kit includes sensors such as a light sensor, UV sensor, and temperature probe, allowing students to collect accurate, real-time data for a wide range of experiments.

Students can explore how light intensity changes with distance, angle, or materials, measure ultraviolet (UV) radiation, and investigate how light interacts with surfaces. These tools make it easy for students to move from simple observations to quantitative experiments, supporting deeper understanding of light as a form of energy.

This kit is especially well suited for science fair projects and inquiry-based investigations. Students can design their own experiments—such as testing sunscreen effectiveness, comparing light levels in different environments, or investigating how light affects temperature—and use data to support their conclusions. The LabQuest system displays graphs instantly, helping students identify patterns and relationships as they collect data.
