Tap Tap Tap! Is this thing working?

Let’s pretend I’m posting a video for review!

After sharing my video to YouTube from iMovie, I can paste the link here.

    How’d I do?

    We will review and discuss

We will review and discuss the Mini Projects during session 2 on Saturday, March 16th. If you can have it posted in the forum before that, it’ll give the team a chance to review before the session.

    I’m thinking don’t delete it.

I’m thinking don’t delete it…perhaps post newer versions as a reply to your first draft?

    These questions aren’t crazy

These questions aren’t crazy at all! Keep them coming!

I think the pitch is excellent—I particularly like that it’s not necessarily school related and involves a particular type of mood.

One of the rules for the Mini Project is to only use the footage from that folder…so Drone, School, and Phone clips. Strictly speaking, the beach footage is off limits, but I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with a second attempt with the extra footage. ????

Not overthinking…the important bit to keep in mind for this project is to start out with a particular narrative and mood in mind, and then work your edit to achieve those goals as strongly as you can. I think pacing, music, some stylistic effects could really work well here. (Like Josiah talked about, a cross-fade transition represents (generally) a change in time or scene—perfect for reminiscing. Perhaps a color hue for the remembering parts…or soft focus? And music will obviously help.)

I’ll add this—don’t forget the voice over! But it doesn’t need to be a documentary type voice…it could be the voice in the character’s head…or the old friend’s head.

The main idea behind the Mini Project is to get folks comfortable with iMovie, and to start thinking about how mood can play apart in the story—without having to worry about shooting stuff.

    Thanks for the questions!!
