Pocket Microscope – Carson MicroBrite Plus 60–120x

The Carson MicroBrite Plus Pocket Microscope is a compact, handheld microscope that gives students an easy way to explore structures and details that are difficult or impossible to see with the unaided eye. With 60x–120x magnification, adjustable focus, and built-in LED illumination, students can take microscopy beyond the laboratory table and directly investigate materials collected from the classroom, schoolyard, garden, or other field environments.

Its portable design makes it particularly useful for middle school investigations. Students can examine leaves, flower parts, feathers, fibers, paper, soil particles, sand, rocks and minerals, insect structures, and other small specimens without the setup required by a traditional compound microscope. Because multiple microscopes are available, they can also be used for small-group or whole-class investigations rather than relying on a single demonstration microscope.

The adjustable magnification provides an opportunity for students to begin with a broader view of a specimen and then increase magnification to investigate finer structures. Built-in LED lighting illuminates the viewing area, making the microscopes useful with many opaque specimens that would not work well with a traditional transmitted-light microscope.
